How to join 1Percent and start learning
Creating an account takes about a minute and is completely free. Here's everything a brand-new learner needs to know.

Open the sign-up page
Go to the 1Percent homepage and click Student Login, then open the Sign up page.

Register with your email
Enter your email, choose a password, and add your full name. Your full name is what appears on your certificates later — use your real name.

Confirm your email
Check your inbox for a confirmation email and confirm your address. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder.

Take the welcome tour
The first time you log in, a short onboarding wizard asks about your experience and goals, then personalises your dashboard.

Start your first lesson

What you get for free
Every new account starts on the Free Starter plan: access to course overviews, 1 lesson download per day, and 10 coins to start. You can stay on the free plan for as long as you like — upgrading to Pro (RWF 15,000/month) or Unlimited (RWF 35,000/month) is optional. Compare all plans →
Who can learn with 1Percent?
Anyone. 1Percent is designed for absolute beginners as well as junior developers who want to become professional engineers. Courses range from beginner (Programming Fundamentals, Git & GitHub, Technical Communication) to advanced (System Design, DevOps, Capstone projects). Students under 18 can have a parent pay for their subscription through a shareable parent payment link.
