Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the 1% Expert Programme platform ("the Platform"), operated by 1percent Rwanda ("the Company"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility and Age

Anyone aged 10 or older can study on the Platform. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement, and that:

• If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf and consents to your use of the Platform, including any payments.
• If you are 10–17, payments must be made by a parent or guardian — for example through the parent payment link generated on the payment page.

We may ask for age verification where reasonably required, and may suspend accounts that violate this policy.

3. Training Programme

Enrolment in any course requires acceptance of these terms. Students must:

• Complete assigned coursework and projects to the best of their ability
• Adhere to the code of conduct and community guidelines
• Not redistribute, share, or sell course materials to third parties
• Use the platform for learning purposes only

For students under 18, parents and guardians are encouraged to take an active interest in their child's learning and to supervise platform use where appropriate.

4. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised use.

5. Intellectual Property

All course materials, including videos, text, code examples, and assessments, remain the intellectual property of 1percent Rwanda unless otherwise stated. Students retain full ownership of their original project work and solutions.

6. Certificates

Certificates are issued upon successful completion of a course and passing the end-of-course quiz. Certificates are non-transferable and may be revoked if fraudulent activity is detected.

7. Payments and Subscriptions

Premium features require a paid subscription. All payments are processed securely through third-party payment providers. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 1percent Rwanda shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Kigali, Rwanda.
